I have a packed post showing the Different UR SUGAR Spider Gels with Demo – Born Pretty Review ahead. Purchase details, links and description of the product/s are listed below the images in The Rundown section.

In my first Spider Gel post I’m just going to introduce you to the different types of a Spider Gel carried by Born Pretty. I was sent a few of each to share with you and have whipped up a quick demonstration including some examples of what you can do with it.

Buff & Polish - UR Sugar Spider Gel EXAMPLES for Born Pretty

In case you missed the memo some time last year, Spider Gel is a really cool type of product that’s been sweeping Instagram and the nail world for more than a hot minute. It’s called Spider Gel given the webbing effect it has.

It looks like a thicker gel and usually comes in a pot, but when you pull at the surface and lift the gel with something like a toothpick or a dotting tool or small brush it’s really stringy. With a bit of practice you can have great control and drop these webs or ‘strings’ over the nail to create some really cool effects!

Different brands of Spider Gel can perform slightly differently, but the UR SUGAR brand is really stringy and I love that allows you to do super fine lines or really thick lines. It also allows you to pull strings a lot further than some other brands without breaking, so it’s great for that as well. A little goes a long way.

It’s also a really good way to get super straight lines once you get the hang of it. It’s no secret I love geometric nails and this product is one way for those without a steady hand to create a geometric look without the need for using a brush or stamping.

Ok that’s enough text! You can watch my demonstration of using Spider Gel to get a bit of an idea of how this performed. I didn’t have a lot of time because I had to reshoot it all, so I just did a few basic examples in this second video.

VIDEO COMING (still having issues)

Let’s get to the various types of Spider Gel on offer…! BornPretty.com offers a range of different types of Spider Gel from the brand UR SUGAR. They all come in 7ml sized gel pots. I received colours from each of these ranges, and have supplied the colour charts so you can see what colour each comes in. The ones I were sent have been highlighted with a star.

UR SUGAR 7ml Spider Gel – Basic Colours series 2.

ITEM NO: 46290

This series comes in 18 colours and includes yellow, orange, reds, browns, pinks, green, purples and blues (UR-13 to UR-30). If you’re looking for blacks and whites they’re available at this listing here – ITEM NO: 45820 (UR-01 to UR-12).

My video demonstration uses UR-14.

UR SUGAR 7ml Spider Gel – metallic colours.

ITEM NO: 46267

UR SUGAR 7ml Spider UV Gel Polish METALLIC, ITEM ID-46267

These colours are lovely as a whole range of metallic colours including gold silver greens Blues purple strength and they 16 colours to choose from in this series.

They look stunning over black but will also work over some lighter colours too. If you look at my example demonstration you’ll see how I’ve used these italics that I received to demonstrate some geometric line work. You can see how thin I could get them to be, despite the fact that they’re metallic. They are not chunky like a glitter polish so you can use these nicely thick or thin.

UR SUGAR 7ml Spider Gel – shiny colours.

ITEM NO: 46290

UR SUGAR 7ml Spider UV Gel Polish SHINY, ITEM ID-46396

UR SUGAR 7ml Spider UV Gel Polish SHINY, ITEM ID-46396

This series is called Shiny Spider Gel. It’s a shiny gel polish that has a metallic property to it but it is even smoother than the last series I mentioned. Again I was able to get super thin lines out of this one or thick ones if it is desired, and the colours again look great over light or dark bases.

There are 10 shades to choose from in this set and you can buy them either individually or is a complete set while stocks last. The colours in this series include silvers gold green purple blue and red. I’ve used UR-01 fine gold in my main Spider Gel nail art created for this review piece.

If you’re not sure about it you can do any kind of design then it’s on it really require any special skills, as long as you have a UV gel lamp to cure the gel polish in. It’s best used over other gel base cars and we need to be cured in a lamp over UV lamp or LED.

Warnings & Tips:

Do not get this on your skin. It’s a gel product. You can still cause irritation and possible allergic reaction to over exposure. So mask off any areas of skin, using skin protector stickers or latex for instance, if using this on clients or yourself.

If you want to create strings between your thumb and forefinger please for god’s sake make sure you use gloves to do so full stop for exactly the same reasons I just mentioned.

Not a rant, just consider it friendly sensible advice since I get a lot of people new to gel visiting my blog. I’ve just seen so many people using it with their fingers again and getting it all over bare skin that I have a bruise on my forehead from all the facepalming… 😉

Picard facepalm

Seriously though, do yourself a favour and use all your gel products safely, not just this one.

USAGE:

It comes with no curing instructions (which always irks me), but I recommend thin lines be cured for 2 minutes in a CFL UV lamp / 1 minute in LED. Bulkier lines should be cured longer accordingly. To get longer wear out of it it’s ideal to use a gel top coat over the spider gel, although if you’re going for a 3D look you might lose some of that effect by using the top coat.

Removal is just like any other gel and really easy. It does not need any special instructions – just remove as you would normally remove the rest of your gel manicure.

Have you tried Spider Gel yourself? Do you like it?

And that concludes my Different UR SUGAR Spider Gels with Demo – Born Pretty Review. Any questions or comments, leave them below 🙂

See below for full details and notes on this polish.

THE RUNDOWN:

Name: UR Sugar Spider Gels
Brand: Born Pretty
Item Number: (see below)
Item Type: Spider Art Gel
Colour (or family): Various
Size: 7ml / 0.25oz

Usage Notes:
See above.

The Verdict:
It’s great stuff! Very stringy (positive thing) and stretches are amongst the best Spider gels that I have tried to date (quite a few now haha!). The webs and strings don’t break like other brands can tend to, so it is very easy to get super thin lines with this product line.

They have a superb range of colours and will be fun to play with, even if a little messy at times. But I recommend this and will be back with spider gel art very soon!
